SPENCER gives you the insights and strategies you need to support young people at the earliest possible stage - before referring to medical professionals or outside services.

Designed around formulation psychology, SPENCER helps you identify areas of need for a young person by turning observations on the behaviours they exhibit into defined "areas of concern". Each of these areas of concern then comes with actionable strategies to support that child.

How does SPENCER Work?

Understand a young person by doing a SPENCER questionnaire

The SPENCER questionnaire is designed to be used by non-clinicians. Through our algorithm, it converts observed behaviours of the young person in their environment into a profile that contains likely areas of need.

Select recommended support strategies for use with the young person, based on their areas of need

Actionable support strategies are recommended once the profile has been completed. These are based on the areas of need identified in the profile.

For SPENCER Professional: 
New support strategies are sent to the staff who interact with that student to use

New support strategies are disseminated to staff that work with that young person to ensure they are aware of the needs of that young person and can contribute positively to their implementation.

After approximately 6 weeks, create a new profile and see what's changed, select new strategies or re-use existing ones that are working.

After trialing the strategies, complete a new Spencer profile to see what's changed and select new or existing recommendations to move forward with.

Who can use SPENCER Professional in my organisation?

It's up to you. Once you have SPENCER, you can designate as many different roles as you need. There are two types of access:
‍
- "Needs Managers" who organize who is assigned to which student and who completes which profiles.
- "Key Professionals" who can access student recommendations for students they work with, complete questionnaires for students they know well, and action recommendations.

Is SPENCER Easy to Use?

We've designed the SPENCER system to minimise admin time and to maximize usability. SPENCER is intuitive and easy to use, and has built-in automations to disseminate information and remind users which tasks need completing and when.

Is SPENCER Secure?

SPENCER is hosted using industry leader Amazon Web Services. Industry standard encryption is used on all data and access is only via SSL secured connections.

Spencer 3D is GDPR compliant, and is working towards industry standard ISO27001 certification.

How do we access SPENCER, do we have to download it?

SPENCER is an entirely web-based platform. SPENCER is therefore available for any internet connected device allowing you to enjoy all the benefits and functionality of SPENCER, wherever you are.
